JAW / TMJ TREATMENT

Jaw pain can make everyday activities like eating, talking, and even yawning uncomfortable. At Bayview North Family Chiropractic, we take the time to understand what's contributing to your symptoms—whether it's related to the jaw joint itself, muscle tension, your neck, posture, or a combination of factors. From there, we'll create a personalized treatment plan that's tailored to your needs and goals.
WHAT IS TMJ DYSFUNCTION?

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects your jaw to your skull and allows you to speak, chew, and yawn comfortably. When this joint isn't functioning properly, it can lead to jaw pain, clicking or popping, stiffness, headaches, and difficulty opening or closing your mouth. TMJ dysfunction can be influenced by factors such as clenching or grinding your teeth (bruxism), stress, muscle tension, joint dysfunction, or previous jaw injuries. Understanding what's contributing to your symptoms is the first step toward finding the most appropriate treatment.
