HIP FLEXOR STRAIN / PAIN TREATMENT

Pain or tightness at the front of your hip can make walking, climbing stairs, running, or getting up from a seated position uncomfortable. At Bayview North Family Chiropractic, we take the time to understand what's contributing to your symptoms by assessing your hips, pelvis, lower back, posture, and movement patterns. From there, we'll create a personalized treatment plan designed to improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and help you get back to the activities you enjoy.
WHAT CAUSES HIP FLEXOR PAIN?

Your hip flexor muscles help lift your knee and bend your hip during activities such as walking, running, climbing stairs, and kicking. Hip flexor pain commonly develops following muscle strains, repetitive overuse, prolonged sitting, sudden increases in activity, or sports that involve sprinting and kicking. Tightness or weakness in surrounding muscles can also affect how the hip moves and contribute to ongoing discomfort.
COMMON SYMPTOMS WE SEE
-
Pain or tightness in the front of the hip or groin
-
Pain when lifting the leg or bringing the knee toward the chest
-
Pain triggered by running, kicking, or climbing stairs
-
Difficulty standing up straight after periods of sitting
-
A persistent feeling of pulling or catching in the hip joint

WHY AN ASSESSMENT MATTERS

Pain at the front of the hip isn't always caused by a hip flexor strain. Similar symptoms can also be related to hip joint conditions, tendon injuries, lower back problems, or other muscles around the pelvis. A thorough assessment helps identify what's contributing to your symptoms so we can recommend the most appropriate treatment plan.
