BUNION PAIN TREATMENT

Bunions can make walking, standing, exercising, or finding comfortable shoes frustrating. At Bayview North Family Chiropractic, we take the time to understand how your bunion is affecting your movement and daily activities so we can develop a treatment plan that's tailored to your needs and goals.
WHAT IS A BUNION?

A bunion is a bony prominence that develops at the base of the big toe as the joint gradually shifts out of alignment. This can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and changes in the way your foot functions. Genetics, foot structure, arthritis, and prolonged pressure from footwear may all contribute to bunion development.
COMMON SYMPTOMS WE SEE
-
Pain or burning at the big toe joint
-
A visible bump on the side of the foot
-
Redness, swelling, or localized inflammation
-
Discomfort aggravated by shoes
-
Difficulty finding comfortable footwear
-
Stiffness or reduced motion in the toe
-
Pain that worsens after prolonged standing or walking

WHY AN ASSESSMENT MATTERS

Not every bump or pain near the big toe is a bunion. Joint arthritis, tendon irritation, and other forefoot conditions can produce similar symptoms. A thorough assessment helps determine what's contributing to your discomfort and the most appropriate treatment options.
HOW WE HELP MANAGE BUNION PAIN AT BAYVIEW NORTH FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC

Your care begins with a thorough assessment of your feet, toes, ankles, posture, and walking mechanics to better understand how your bunion is affecting your movement. While chiropractic care cannot reverse the bunion itself, treatment may help improve joint mobility, reduce surrounding muscle tension, improve foot mechanics, and ease discomfort.
We may also recommend footwear modifications, exercises, and supportive strategies to help you stay active more comfortably.
