ROTATOR CUFF TREATMENT

Pain when reaching overhead, lifting objects, sleeping on your side, or even getting dressed can all be signs of a rotator cuff injury. At Bayview North Family Chiropractic, we take the time to understand what's contributing to your shoulder pain by assessing your shoulder, neck, posture, and movement patterns.

From there, we'll create a personalized treatment plan designed to reduce pain, restore movement, and help you get back to the activities you enjoy.

WHAT IS A ROTATOR CUFF INJURY?

The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles and their tendons that work together to stabilize your shoulder and help you lift and rotate your arm. These tissues can become irritated or injured through repetitive overhead activities, sports, lifting, age-related changes, or a sudden fall. Rotator cuff injuries range from mild tendon irritation to partial or complete tears, and they often develop gradually over time.

COMMON â€‹SYMPTOMS WE SEE

  • Pain when reaching overhead

  • Pain lifting or lowering your arm

  • Weakness in the shoulder

  • Pain when sleeping on the affected side

  • Difficulty reaching behind your back

  • Clicking or catching with shoulder movement

  • Reduced range of motion

WHY AN ASSESSMENT MATTERS

Not all shoulder pain is caused by the rotator cuff. Conditions such as shoulder impingement, arthritis, bursitis, joint irritation, or pain referred from the neck can produce similar symptoms. A thorough assessment helps determine what's contributing to your discomfort so we can recommend the most appropriate treatment plan.

HOW WE TREAT ROTATOR CUFF INJURIES AT

BAYVIEW NORTH FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC

Your care begins with a thorough assessment of your shoulder, neck, upper back, posture, and movement patterns to understand what's contributing to your symptoms. Based on what we find during your assessment, treatment may include gentle chiropractic adjustments when clinically appropriate, targeted soft tissue therapy, mobility and strengthening exercises, and practical advice on posture and activity modification to help restore shoulder function and reduce the risk of future flare-ups.

The good news is that many rotator cuff injuries respond well to conservative treatment, especially when they're identified early. A thorough assessment helps us determine the best treatment approach based on your specific injury and goals.
