TENNIS ELBOW TREATMENT

Pain on the outside of your elbow can make everyday activities like lifting a coffee cup, shaking hands, opening a jar, or gripping tools surprisingly uncomfortable. At Bayview North Family Chirpractic, we take the time to understand what's contributing to your symptoms by assessing your elbow, wrist, shoulder, neck, and movement patterns. From there, we'll create a personalized treatment plan designed to reduce discomfort, improve function, and help you get back to your daily activities with confidence.
WHAT IS TENNIS ELBOW?

Tennis Elbow, also known as lateral epicondylitis, is an overuse condition affecting the tendons that attach your forearm muscles to the outside of your elbow. Despite its name, it doesn't just affect tennis players. It can develop from repetitive gripping, lifting, manual work, racquet sports, or other activities that place repeated stress on the forearm muscles and tendons. Over time, this can lead to irritation, small tendon injuries, and pain during everyday activities.
COMMON SYMPTOMS WE SEE
-
Pain or tenderness on the outer bony part of the elbow
-
Difficulty or pain when gripping or lifting objects
-
Increased discomfort when twisting the forearm, such as opening jars or turning door handles
-
Elbow stiffness, particularly in the morning
-
Possible weakness in the wrist and grip
-
Pain that radiates down the forearm towards the wrist

HOW WE TREAT TENNIS ELBOW AT BAYVIEW NORTH FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC

Your care begins with a thorough assessment of your elbow, wrist, shoulder, neck, and movement patterns to better understand what's contributing to your symptoms. Based on your assessment findings, your treatment plan may include targeted soft tissue therapy, gentle joint mobilizations or chiropractic adjustments when clinically appropriate, and rehabilitative exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, and tendon resilience. For chronic tendon conditions that haven't responded to rest alone, Shockwave Therapy, or Low Level Laser Therapy may also be recommended to help stimulate healing and support your recovery.
We'll also provide practical activity modification strategies and ergonomic recommendations to help reduce strain and lower the risk of future flare-ups.
