PLANTAR FASCIITIS TREATMENT

Heel pain with your first few steps in the morning or after long periods of standing can make everyday activities frustrating. At Bayview North Family Chiropractic, we take the time to understand what's contributing to your symptoms by assessing your feet, ankles, gait, and movement patterns. From there, we'll create a personalized treatment plan designed to reduce discomfort and help you stay active.

WHAT IS PLANTAR FASCIITIS?

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It occurs when the plantar fascia—a thick band of connective tissue that supports the arch of your foot—becomes irritated from repetitive stress. Factors such as prolonged standing, increased activity, tight calf muscles, and changes in foot mechanics can all contribute to the condition.

COMMON â€‹SYMPTOMS WE SEE

  • Sharp heel pain with the first steps in the morning

  • Pain that flares up after sitting for long periods

  • Pain after prolonged standing or walking

  • Tenderness at the bottom of the heel or along the arch

  • Stiffness and restricted movement in the foot and ankle

WHY AN ASSESSMENT MATTERS

Not all heel pain is caused by plantar fasciitis. Heel spurs, nerve irritation, stress fractures, and tendon conditions can cause similar symptoms. A thorough assessment helps determine what's contributing to your pain so we can recommend the most appropriate treatment.

HOW WE HELP MANAGE PLANTAR FASCIITIS AT

BAYVIEW NORTH FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC

Your care begins with a thorough assessment of your feet, ankles, gait, and lower limb movement patterns to better understand what's contributing to your symptoms. Based on your assessment findings, your treatment plan may include gentle chiropractic care when clinically appropriate, targeted soft tissue therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises, footwear recommendations, and activity modifications.

For chronic cases, Shockwave Therapy may also be recommended to help stimulate healing and reduce pain.

NOT SURE IF YOUR HEEL OR ARCH PAIN IS PLANTAR FASCIITIS OR SOMETHING ELSE?
