HEEL SPURS TREATMENT
in Richmond Hill

Heel pain can make walking, standing, and staying active uncomfortable. At Bayview North Family Chiropractic, we take the time to understand what's contributing to your symptoms through a thorough assessment of your feet, ankles, gait, and movement patterns before recommending a personalized treatment plan.
WHAT ARE HEEL SPURS?

Heel spurs are small bony growths that can develop on the underside of the heel bone over time. While they're often associated with plantar fasciitis, many people have heel spurs without any pain at all. When symptoms are present, they're often related to irritation of the surrounding soft tissues rather than the spur itself.
COMMON SYMPTOMS WE SEE
-
Sharp heel pain with the first steps in the morning
-
Pain that flares up after sitting for long periods
-
Pain after prolonged standing or walking
-
Tenderness at the bottom of the heel or along the arch
-
Stiffness and restricted movement in the foot and ankle

WHY AN ASSESSMENT MATTERS

Not everyone with a heel spur has pain, and not all heel pain is caused by a heel spur. A thorough assessment helps determine whether the surrounding soft tissues, plantar fascia, or another condition may be contributing to your symptoms.
HOW WE TREAT HEEL SPURS AT BAYVIEW NORTH FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC

Treatment begins with a thorough assessment of your feet, ankles, and walking mechanics to better understand what's contributing to your discomfort. Depending on your assessment findings, treatment may include soft tissue therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises, footwear recommendations, and Shockwave Therapy for chronic soft tissue irritation when clinically appropriate.
